Spread the love

We keep waiting for Christianity to feel like success. Jesus just wants us to love like He did — especially when it hurts.

The road to glory doesn’t skip the cross — it goes through it.

Jesus Is the Way — Not the Shortcut

Jesus didn’t call us to comfort. He called us to follow.

And the road He walked was anything but easy.
He told His disciples to love — right after He was betrayed.
He washed their feet — even the ones that would walk away.

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you…” — John 13:34, ESV

We keep asking God to reroute us away from the hard stuff.
But sometimes, the storm is the path.

Try this: Show up for someone who can’t pay you back.
Avoid this: Confusing discomfort with disobedience.

Gospel Love Won’t Always Look Like Success

Paul and Barnabas leaving a hostile town, illustrating Acts 13:51 and spiritual perseverance
Rejected, but not rattled — they shook the dust off and kept walking.

Paul and Barnabas brought fire. The people brought stones.

Their preaching didn’t fail. It just didn’t flatter.
When they were pushed out of town, they didn’t sulk — they wiped the dust off and kept going.

That wasn’t passive-aggressive. It was freedom.
They refused to carry rejection as baggage.

“The disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.” — Acts 13:52, ESV

Love isn’t proven by applause. It’s tested in silence.

Sometimes loving well means losing clout.
Sometimes truth-telling costs you the room.
And sometimes, that’s exactly how you know you’re doing it right.

Try this: Tell the truth with love — even if your voice shakes.
Avoid this: Turning your witness into a performance.

The Endgame Is a Wedding, Not a Scoreboard

A glowing wedding banquet table under an open sky, symbolizing the marriage supper of the Lamb and the true endgame of faith
The Kingdom doesn’t end in applause — it ends in a feast.

Heaven isn’t about escape. It’s about union.

Revelation doesn’t end with a war scene.
It ends with a wedding.
A feast. A homecoming.

“Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” — Revelation 19:9, ESV

Psalm 145 says it clearly:
“The LORD is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.” — Psalm 145:8, ESV

That’s not just a verse.
That’s the tone of the entire story.

Every act of sacrificial love is a step closer to the table.

Try this: Speak blessings out loud — like you’ve already RSVP’d.
Avoid this: Acting like the waiting room is the end of the story.

Conclusion: Walk the Road, Don’t Watch It

A solitary figure walking a rugged path toward golden light, symbolizing perseverance and faithful obedience to Jesus
You don’t have to feel like you’re winning — just keep walking.

Jesus isn’t your shortcut. He’s your Way.

He didn’t dodge the pain.
He didn’t outsource the sacrifice.
He took the hit and told us: “Now love like this.”

“By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” — John 13:35, ESV

Not by how clever you sound.
Not by your Twitter threads.
By love. Real, gritty, persistent love.

So, who are you being called to love — for real?

It won’t feel like winning.
It’ll feel like faithfulness.

And that’s how you’ll know you’re on the right road.
